Leo Henriquez is the original Cuban! A street dancer from Havana, Leo's love of music, dance and rhythm began at an early age. After studying music and percussion in one of Havana's prestigious music schools, Leo went on to play with many top Cuban salsa bands of the 80's.

On arrival into the UK Leo began sharing his passion for salsa dancing with a captive audience, and since then his work has gone from strength to strength. His love of music and his dream to dance led to his creation of 'Cubashe Dance Promotions'. Leo established the company in 2005 as a means to gather his creative ideas. His aim was, and still is, to share, promote and develop his passion for dance and music.

Leo runs several regular social salsa club nights, group and individual classes for children, teenagers and adults of all ages, as well as a weekly 'Salsa-cise' class which combines aerobic exercise with salsa moves and music. In addition, Leo has successfully organised cultural events including, 'Black History Month' in 2004, as well as the Norwegian 'Rueda de Casino Congress that took place in Brighton in September 2007.
