Homero González was born in Havana, Cuba and trained at the Escuela De Arte de la Provincia de Havana. He began his professional dancing career with the Carnival Group Charanga De Bejucal and subsequently the most famous carnival in Cuba, the Guaracheros De Regia, directed by Umberto Medina.
Homero is now based in London and currently teaches Afro Cuban, Rumba, Cuban Popular and Salsa Classes in various venues in and around London and the South East. He also organises dance workshops all over the UK and in Europe.Classes, workshops and shows have been held in Spain, Italy and Norway in addition to the UK, including the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican.
Homero danced in the feature film 'Born Romantic' on which he worked as Choreographer and dancer, partnering the principal actress, Jane Horrocks from 'Little Voice'. Many of his dance group also feature as dancers in the film.
Homero is also the Artistic Director and choreographer of Salsa Cubana Cabaret a Latin dance cabaret show. They are a Cuban style cabaret group, combining dances using all the Cuban Rhythms of Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Son, Rumba, Salsa, Bolero and Rumba with modern interpretations of African beats. Homero's most recent television projects have been to film four short dance programmes for the BBC, teaching Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Merengue and Mambo.
